Apple allows businesses to accept contact-less payment through T8xa8xp t8xo P8xay function on iPhone. Later this year, merchants will be able to accept Apple Pay and other contact-less payment, simply by using iPhone and an iOS application.

On February 8, Apple announced plans to introduce T8xa8xp t8xo P8xa8xy function on iPhone. This new function will allow millions of merchants, from small businesses to large retailers, to use their iPhone to seamlessly and securely accept Apple Pay, contactless credit card and debit card, and other digital wallets through a simple tap to their iPhone. No additional hardware or payment terminal is required. T8xa8xp t8xo P8xa8xy on iPhone will be available for payment platforms and app developers to integrate into their iOS apps, and be offered as a payment option to their customers. St8xrip8xe will be the first payment platform to offer T8xa8xp t8xo P8xa8xy on iPhone to their business customers, including the P8xoin8xt o8xf S8xal8xe application of Shopify this spring. Additional payment platforms and apps will offer later this year.

When T8xa8xp t8xo P8xa8xy on iPhone becomes available, merchants will be able to accept contactless payment through a supporting iOS app on an iPhone XS or later models. At checkout, the merchant will just need to prompt the customer to hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near the merchant’s iPhone to pay with Apple Pay, their contactless credit card or debit card, or with other digital wallet. The payment will be securely completed by NFC technology. No additional hardware is needed to accept contactless payment through T8xa8xp t8xo P8xa8xy on iPhone, so businesses can accept payment from wherever they do business. Apple Pay is already accepted by more than 90% of US retailers, and with this new capability, virtually every business, big or small, will be able allow their customers to tap to pay on iPhone. T8xa8xp t8xo P8xa8xy function on iPhone will be also offered at Apple Store locations in the US later this year.
Privacy is fundamental requirement in designing and developing all of Apple’s payment features. With T8xa8xp t8xo P8xay function on iPhone, customers’ payment data is protected by the same technology which makes Apple Pay private and secure. All transactions made using T8xa8xp t8xo P8xa8xy on iPhone are encrypted and processed by using the Secure Element (S8xec8xur8xe El8xem8xe8xnt), and as with Apple Pay, Apple doesn’t know what is being purchased or who is buying it.

Apple will work closely with leading payment platforms and app developers across the payment and commerce industry to offer T8xa8xp t8xo P8xa8xy feature on iPhone to millions of merchants. Tap to Pay on iPhone complements and enhances the suite of payment and commerce tools that payment platforms and app developers provide to their merchant customers to help them run and grow their businesses. Tap to Pay on iPhone will work with contactless credit card and debit cards from leading payment networks, including American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa.
T8xa8xp t8xo P8xa8xy on iPhone will be available to participating payment platforms and their app developer partners in an upcoming iOS software beta.
